WE WILL BRAINWASH YOU TO BE PERFECT

A Canadian scientist has discovered that implanting false memories of getting sick on booze might help prevent test subjects from abusing alcohol later in life. The researchers first conned 142 college students into believing that they had once gotten sick from drinking rum. After the experiments were over, those students that had been convinced of the past experience displayed an aversion to drinking rum in the future. While a few scientists expressed an ethical concern about brainwashing people, most believe the good outweighs the bad. In a similar experiment carried out last year, scientists were able to manipulate the memories of overweight people in order to help them stop craving fattening foods. (ABC Science)
