OLD TIMER’S DISEASE

Bad news for anyone with a brain. The latest research suggests that many mental powers start to decline at the age of 27, much earlier than ever thought, with overall brain function peaking at the ripe old age of 22. The seven-year study of 2000 people between the ages of 18 and 60 found that brain speed, reasoning and visual puzzle-solving ability all decline after the age of 27 and memory begins it’s decline at the age of 37. The only areas not affected were vocabulary and general knowledge which increased until the age of 60. (BBC)
